Media Technologies: Games and Education

The article 'Games and Education' by Brian Magerko, was interesting in that games can be a valuable educational tool.  Although some games can be linked to violence and graphic material, there are games that are educational and problem solving.  Games can improve alertness and social interaction when played with large groups.  Game players learn important problem solving skills and apply this to the real world in their jobs or society.  In the future, Virtual Reality will become an important tool in real life simulation and even in the medical field.  Doctors can use this technology to pinpoint the exact diagnosis and make more accurate procedures.

I have played games since childhood and have noticed my improvement in mental alertness and reflexes.  Some car driving games that I've played have helped me while driving on the road.  The graphics of games continues to become more advanced that it mirrors close to the real world.
